1) Parent and Grad PLUS Loans made through the Department of Education's (DOE) Direct Loan (DL) Program will have an interest rate of 7.9%. Rates shown above are for PLUS loans disbursed through the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP).
2) Effective July 1, 2010, all Federal Stafford and PLUS loans will be made through the DL Program.
Variable Rate Loans
Federal loans first disbursed between 7/1/1998 and 6/30/2006 will have a variable interest rate. Variable interest rates are calculated based upon statutory formulas and equal the bond equivalent rate of the 91-day Treasury bill auctioned at the final auction in May of each year, plus certain statutory percentage add-ons.
