HESC Computer Giveaway Eligibility

HESC is a proud sponsor of Texas Guaranteed’s (TG) annual Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) teleconference, Applying for Financial Aid: The FAFSA Process. The computer system reflects our outreach commitment to participate in statewide pre-collegiate awareness activities by equipping a student with the single most powerful tool one can have as one prepares to go to college.

To become eligible for the computer giveaway, you must meet the following criteria:

• Graduating senior pursuing a post-secondary education.
• Register at a site hosting the TG teleconference. Ask your high school counselor if your school is a host site. To find a listing of available host sites for the broadcast, students and parents should go to TG’s public service web site, Adventures in Education, at www.aie.org, beginning in January of each year. TG will update the listing regularly as new host sites are added, and it also will include details about what students and parents need to bring with them to complete the FAFSA during the event.

After the event, all of the registered entries from around the state are mailed to TG’s headquarters in Austin. In April, at the annual TG Conference, a representative from HESC will randomly draw the name of the winner of the complete desktop computer system. The student is notified shortly after this.
