As you may be aware, new loans under the Federal Family Education Loan Program
(FFELP) ceased effective July 1, 2010 due to the passage of the Health Care
and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010. All new federal loans
beginning with the 2010-11 academic year were made through the Department
of Education’s Direct Loan (DL) program.

If you have any questions about your loan(s) owned by NTHEA or serviced
by HESC, please contact us at 1-800-366-4372 or click on the
Check Your Account” button.

If you have questions regarding obtaining a new federal loan, please
contact the financial aid office at your college or university.

SPECIAL DIRECT CONSOLIDATION ALERT
The U.S. Department of Education has announced a Special Direct
Consolidation Loan for certain borrowers effective January 15, 2012.  
If you are eligible, you may be contacted by a government contractor
sometime after January 17, 2012.  If you have been contacted or
have questions about the Special Direct Consolidation Loan
program, please click here or call us at 1-800-366-4372.
Although you may be eligible for this program, it may not be
in your best interest to apply
